Four major airlines complete the test flight at Daxing Airport

At 9:30 a.m. on May 13, a Southern Airlines Airbus A380 aircraft landed smoothly on the West Runway of Beijing Daxing International Airport; then, Eastern Airlines A350-900 aircraft, Air China’s Boeing 747-8 aircraft, and Xiamen Airlines Boeing B787-9 aircraft landed on the runway of Beijing Daxing International Airport at 9:35, 9:41, and 9:45, respectively.

The test flight means that Daxing Airport is ready for commercial operation in terms of hardware facilities. In the next step, the main task of Daxing Airport will be software update and proofreading.

According to information from Air China, Air China has selected the Boeing 747-8 long-range wide-body passenger aircraft for this test flight. The aircraft can carry 365 passengers. It is currently the main aircraft of Air China's wide-body passenger aircraft. It was successfully completed in 2017. The verification test flight mission of the new runway of Chongqing Airport was completed. The B2480 aircraft that performed the test flight joined the Air China fleet in mid-June 2015. The aircraft is nearly four years old and is in the "golden age" of aircraft operations.

According to information from Air China, in order to ensure the smooth progress of the test flight, Air China also arranged another Boeing 747-8 passenger plane numbered B2482 at the Capital Airport as a standby aircraft for the test flight.

Simultaneous testing of four types of representative models

It is understood that Daxing Airport is the 4F airport with the highest level in the airport security classification. On the day it is put into operation, it requires a comprehensive F-class aircraft comprehensive support capability, its runway length, the wingspan and wheelbase of the aircraft that can take off and land. The requirements are the most demanding among all airports at present, which can take off and land various large aircraft, of which the largest aircraft that can be guaranteed is the Airbus A380.

For this test flight, China Southern Airlines sent four captains and a senior co-pilot to form the main test aircraft group. Among them, Zhang Tao, the responsible captain of the test aircraft group, is a pilot and captain instructor of the China Southern Airlines Flight Corps A380 aircraft. He is the pilot with the highest technical level of the aircraft and is in charge of the technology and training of China Southern Airlines Group A380 aircraft. "The overall test flight process is stable and smooth, the route design is optimized and reasonable, the navigation and support facilities are running smoothly, and fully meets the navigation conditions." Captain Zhang Tao told the Beijing Business Daily reporter after the test flight.

The relevant person in charge of Daxing Airport pointed out that the test flight selected 4 representative large-scale dual-aisle aircraft from 4 different airlines, covering 4 runways at the same time to carry out the "stress test", in order to fully verify the operation guarantee capability of Daxing Airport. . Being able to guarantee the safe operation of these types of aircraft means that Daxing Airport can also successfully guarantee the safe operation of all types of passenger aircraft in the world today.

"On the whole, the A380 and B747-8 are the largest airliners of Airbus and Boeing, respectively, and the A350 and B787 are the most advanced aircraft with Airbus and Boeing avionics systems. They are very representative and can be better tested. The airport's ability to support large aircraft and new aircraft." said Qi Qi, a senior civil aviation expert.

The flight test work is carried out in three phases

According to the plan, Daxing International Airport and its supporting projects will be completed and accepted on June 30, and will be put into operation on September 30. All the preparatory work is accelerating. This test flight is the most important nodal task before acceptance by the Daxing Airport industry.

According to the plan, the test flight of Daxing Airport will be divided into three phases.

The first stage: The basic test flight started on May 13, which mainly tested the general security situation of the airport.

Second stage: In August, a special low-visibility test flight will be carried out at the airport, and strive to make the low-visibility operation capability of Daxing Airport reach the highest level in the world.

The third stage: A full-scale test flight will be carried out in August and September to ensure that the air-ground coordination is smooth and efficient after the airport is put into operation.

The Regulations on the Construction and Management of Transport Airports clearly stipulate that test flight is one of the prerequisites for the issuance of an airport license. The "Chinese Civil Airport Test Flight Management Regulations" put forward specific requirements for the test flight content: verification of airport flight procedures, minimum operating standards, airport use rules; inspection of airport communications, navigation, surveillance and meteorological facilities, and navigation lights and other guarantees for flight The equipment and operation of the facilities; check the condition of the airport runway, taxiway (including the connecting lane) and the apron surface; check the taxi route and parking space; check the setting of the airport flight zone signs, markers and signs; check Understand the airport clearance; check the comprehensive support capabilities of the airport's air traffic control, aeronautical information, ground services, emergency response, etc. The test of these contents is a comprehensive inspection of the air flight procedures and ground operation procedures of the airport.

For Daxing Airport, the test flight is similar to "catch an exam", and the aircraft and crew are the "examiners."

The next low-visibility special test flight will also become the highlight of the test flight at Daxing Airport. The test flight at Daxing Airport in August will test the HUD RVR 75-meter technology, which represents the world’s most advanced level of aircraft taking off with low visibility. The realization of HUD RVR taking off at 75 meters can effectively reduce the impact of low-visibility weather such as fog and haze on passenger travel, and can better solve the problem of aircraft departure under low-visibility conditions at Daxing Airport, further improve flight normality, and enhance passenger travel experience. At present, there are no airports in my country that use this technology, and there are few airports in the world that have this technology to ensure that aircraft take off.

At present, the three-character code and four-character code of Daxing Airport have been approved by the International Civil Aviation Transport Association (IATA) and the Air Traffic Control Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration respectively, specifically PKX and ZBAD; the "Airport Manual" and its attachments have passed the preliminary inspection of compliance. So far, more than 50 domestic and foreign airlines have expressed their desire to enter Daxing Airport, including more than 30 from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and foreign airlines.

Central South and Southwest routes save time

Daxing Airport is located on the north bank of Yongding River, across Lixian Town, Yufa Town and Guangyang District of Langfang City in Daxing District. The straight-line distance from Tiananmen Square is about 46 kilometers, the Capital Airport is about 67 kilometers, the Tianjin Airport is about 85 kilometers, the Xiongan New District is 55 kilometers, and the Tongzhou Administrative Sub-center is 54 kilometers.

In addition, Daxing Airport adopts a three-vertical and one-horizontal runway layout. The more advanced and scientific running and skiing layout is coordinated with the terminal structure, so that no matter which runway the aircraft uses, the ground taxi time required for take-off and landing can be compressed to the shortest and maximum Minimize the waiting time of passengers on the ground. The airport has also built a "five vertical and two horizontal" comprehensive transportation backbone network, including four high-speed and three rail lines, integrating highways, urban rail transit, high-speed railways and other transportation methods, forming a ground with strong regional radiation capabilities Comprehensive transportation system.

In the winter season of this year, the new airport is expected to have an average daily takeoff and landing of about 370 flights. By the 2020 winter season, it is expected to reach an average daily takeoff and landing of about 810. It is estimated that the passenger throughput will reach 45 million.

It is also worth noting that in order to satisfy the “two cities and three markets” operation in Beijing and Tianjin, the scope of the Beijing terminal control area and the locations and numbers of aircraft entry and exit points have undergone major changes. The new terminal area contains three civil airports, namely Beijing Capital International Airport, Daxing Airport, and Tianjin Binhai International Airport. The airspace area is about 34,500 square kilometers, which is nearly 90% larger than the current terminal area. The eastern border moves eastward for about 90 kilometers, and the southern border moves southward for about 50 kilometers.

Some insiders pointed out that the operation of the airport will become a new source of power for the country's development. In addition to the market dividends brought about by the expansion of flight slots, as its business environment continues to optimize, it will also release a huge number of business opportunities.
